Tamarind is a reddish-brown in colour-tone with purplish hue’s, the heartwood proportion parts tend to be narrower and can be only present in older and larger plantations.

Its yellow (pale) sapwood is very wide with a sharp heartwood with dis-colouration is common in the sapwood.

Tamarind is also known as Tamarindus Indica, it has a dense interlocked grain that is uniformed in nature and wavy with a uniformed nature.
